Appeal re-iterated to help protect bike hire scheme from vandalism and theft

AN appeal has been re-iterated to help protect Edinburgh’s bike hire scheme from vandalism and theft.

In reporting that two young people had been charged with the alleged theft of Just Eat hire bikes, the Edinburgh Evening News newspaper reminds (here) there is an easy way to spot if a bike is being ridden without authorisation.

A red and blue flashing front light is a sign of illegitimate use (it should be white).

The police can be contacted on 101.

The point is made in a Just Eat article published, here, which offers the telephone contact number 0131 278 3000, should a bike be spotted abandoned or vandalised.
