‘Keep off the grass’ call made by Cockburn Association

A CALL has been made for commercial organisations to be prevented from using Edinburgh’s parks and public spaces, for business reasons.

The ‘keep off the grass’ appeal has been made by heritage body, the Cockburn Association, with its chair, Professor Cliff Hague, expressing particular concern about what might happen to East Princes Street gardens (pictured), should it again be used to host a Christmas market, as it was last year.

It has only been recently that the gardens have recovered, after last year’s market which was followed by a long period of heavy rains.
